We caught up with Margot (Community Developer) and Jeske (Concept Manager) and discussed Spaces over coffee.

What inspired you to start Spaces?

Jeske: Years ago, Spaces’ founder was working in a cool looking marketing office in the city centre and local entrepreneurs would often ask her if they could get a desk there. That’s what sparked the idea to make a beautiful office where people love to go to; Spaces.

Can you tell us a little bit about the design and interior of Spaces?

Margot: The look and feel of our offices is very important. We want everyone to get that ‘wow’ sensation when they first come in. Apart from the cool looks, the interior is also very functional and the whole ambiance just makes really good sense.

You offer Dynamic Work Areas? Sounds cool, what’s that?

Margot: We have different working areas that you can enjoy throughout the day. You can start with coffee and a newspaper at a long reading table. When you want to get to work you can get into a booth or focus area and if you have an informal meeting you can move to really comfortable design chairs in the hall. At Spaces it’s not like you have to sit behind the same desk every day.

What do you do to stand out?

Jeske: We are always looking for innovative ways to inspire work. For example by stimulating the senses with the right combination of design, natural light and music. We have even been experimenting with a Spaces scent!

Now we have Atmosphere in all our venues world wide. If our members go from Amsterdam to London they are welcomed with the familiar Spaces look, feel and music

Why did you decide to work with kollekt.fm?

Jeske: We had been trying to get the music right for quite a long time. First, our staff was playing their personal music preference, which was obviously not to everyone’s liking. We realised we needed help from an expert and that’s when we found you.
